Key points:
The curators said that this is work that needs to be seen for the textures and the physical interaction with the work. It’s partly sculptural, plays with tone.
This made me think about what Paul Ellis said in this talk about the move towards mixing media today in photography where it is with & another media such as sculpture.
It’s work about the image.
His encounter with Josef Sudek was v important. He was inspired by early modernism esp Cezanne.
His series ‘tables’ where he looked at it from different angles. The table became an actor in a drama.
